The incident was reported around 7:25 p.m., Thursday, May 2, when police received a 911 call from the Subway at 709 Post Road reporting an armed robbery, said Fairfield Police Sgt. Michael E. Paris.

The suspect, described as a black male wearing a black beanie style hat, a dark colored jacket, and blue jeans displayed a black gun and took cash from the register, Paris said.

He was last seen running east on the Post Road.

There were no injuries and the Detective Bureau is currently investigating.
